Reflection
After viewing the video and reading the text book, I understood that a digital footprint is the mark left behind by a person on the Internet. From the various of examples, like from the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79IYZVYIVLA&feature=youtu.be) it explains that a digital dossier is present in ones life before birth. A digital dossier gathers abundant of information from ones life through means of social media such as Facebook, and started as young as the children websites everyone used such as Neopets. The topic was of huge interest to me because it made me realize that a huge portion of our lives are shared on the Internet and may be available for future employers. I feel it is important as students and future employees not to post anything that may affect ones reputation. Having information of ones self readily available on the Internet makes it easy for employers to search one up and view apps such as twitter where most young people post without discretion. Digital nétiquette/ etiquette is a set of commands that should be followed that creates an respectful safe and prosperous environment on the Internet. Also explaining that one should be as cautious on the Internet such as they are in real life. Not breaking any laws, forms of conducts we do in society should be parallel to how we act online. Even though it may sound corny "treat others how you want to be treated"(http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html).
Report
After completing the digital license quiz i received a perfect score. This came to surprise to be because I do not spend large amounts of time on my lap top or other social networks. However being a sociology and criminology student, I study the law and social world and I understand that the law is in place to protect society. I feel the same with the social medias I use such as Facebook and twitter and Instagram that I should follow the terms and regulations because it is in place to protect the cyber world.
